Dental Implants

...to regain your smile!

"When there seems to be no more hope...
we still have solutions!”

If you've landed on this page, it means you've heard about dental implants and believe they could be the solution for you.

First and foremost, we want to clarify something, as we've mentioned in various blog articles and social media posts: 'Implants are not better than your natural teeth!'

If you have teeth, even if they're almost compromized, but that can be preserved, our first choice will always be to save them. We will never rush into unnecessary extractions, which can result in true 'mutilations.'

Yes, you've understood correctly... removing teeth that can be preserved could be considered a mutilation (by definition: 'Removal, often violent or disfiguring, of an essential or conspicuous parts that won't regenerate)!

So, if you want to save your teeth, you're on the right website. But even if you believe that teeth have no value or importance for your body... well, we still recommend reading our blog articles and following us on social media, because there we'll explain why we disagree with you.

It's an ethical matter; as dentists, we save teeth, even if it means buying valuable time to postpone irreversible decisions.

After this necessary introduction, sometimes it happens that certain teeth really cannot be preserved, or we need to rehabilitate areas of the mouth where teeth have been missing for years.

In these cases, dental implants are an excellent solution, but we need some fundamental requirements:

  1. There must be sufficient bone and gum tissue.

  2. There must be optimal hygiene conditions and good lifestyle choices (e.g., avoiding smoking).

If point one is something we can address with bone regeneration and gum grafts, point two depends solely on you.

But what is a dental implant?

An implant is an artificial titanium 'tooth root' that connects with the bone through a biological process called 'osseointegration,' which allows it to withstand chewing forces.

In most cases, this process takes 3-6 months (depending on the area), during which we prefer not to interfere and avoid immediate chewing on the implant.

Of course, the aesthetic aspect will be managed with temporary prosthetics that prevent aesthetic issues due to missing teeth.

One of the most crucial components for the longevity of an implant is the dental prosthesis that attaches to the implant itself.

Prosthetic planning for implant placement is now managed digitally.

3D software allows precise planning of implant positioning, detailing every step of the surgical procedure. These plans are then transferred to the mouth using our 3D printer.

Thanks to this technology, we are able to print surgical placement guides for implants using sterilizable and biocompatible resins

All of this incredibly increases surgical safety, reducing procedure duration and offering significant advantages for implant longevity.

Therefore, maintaining excellent levels of oral hygiene over time is crucial. This will benefit not only your implants but also your natural teeth. Additionally, regular check-ups and hygiene sessions throughout the year are important.
